Tackle It Tuesday- Making Room for Baby!

I am due in November, with my second child. We live in a small two bedroom apartment, so the baby will be sleeping in our room.

It should come as no surprise that I don’t like to clean. What might come as a surprise (for those who don’t know me) is that our bedroom is ALWAYS the worst. I have been dreading the thought of cleaning the bedroom so that baby will have a place to go. Over the past few months, I would lay in bed thinking of how I should rearrange the furniture so that everything would fit nicely in the room. The other day I came up with a great idea, rather then try and explain it, I will show you instead!

Now, prepare your self for whats going to come next. These first two pictures are amazingly horrific, and I should be embarrassed to even post them. If I didn’t have some great after pictures I wouldn’t post them that is for sure!

Very scary I know!! EEK! Side A

Okay brace yourself for another!

trust me, I know how bad it is! Side B

If you are still here… I thank you. If you aren’t I don’t blame you, but you wouldn’t know that because you are gone already.

It was hard to get the motivation to start that project, although I am not 100% done, I have made a ton of progress!  Some how I mustered up the courage and got to a decent point.

Eventually a baby bed will go there, this is side A, during the progress

Remember, I have been taken out of work for a month to make sure I don’t over do it , and my motto (thanks to flylady) is progress not perfection!

still scary but not as bad!! Side B

So I was proud with that progression, and could have stopped there. Maybe I should have stopped there, but I didn’t want to I wouldn’t have  felt very accomplished at all. If you look closely at the bed, you can see its made, instead of a nasty heap of mess!

I didn’t finish today, plan on doing that tomorrow. I did get a lot more done though so I will leave you with my “almost done” pictures as long as you promise to come back tomorrow and look at the finished product!

There is a baby bed packed in that corner, and a place for clothes! Side A

We would NEVER be able to fit another dresser in this room. Although my amazing husband HATES those plastic storage containers, he as agreed to let me use it for baby clothes. Best part about it, we already had it! It was in the basement collecting dust, now it can be in our room collecting baby love!

Look there is a dresser under there, and floor! Side B

Like I said, I still have a lot to do. I am proud to say though, I cleaned enough that I was able to sweep the ENTIRE floor. I don’t I have ever been able to say that. I am proud of what I have gotten done, and will be even more excited tomorrow when I can post completely done pictures!

All in all, I threw out three bags of trash. We also donated three huge bags of clothing!

I have already figured out what my project will be for next week. A small hint, it will involve the white wicker chest you see in some of the pictures!

What did you tackle today? Feel free to share with everyone and link up over at Tackle It Tuesday, hosted by 5 Minutes for Mom!!

Looks nice! My room tends to get pretty terrible. I think everyone has a hard time cleaning their room. No one sees it so who cares right? My mom kept a pretty clean house, but her room was always a trash heap. No one knows where to put something, how about Mom’s room?

Great job! You’re doing a wonderful job! Can’t wait to see more pictures; I’m inspired, maybe I should start by cleaning off my dresser!
